9 Steps to Starting a Huddle

1. Pray.  Ask the Lord to prepare you to start FCA on your campus.

2. Contact your FCA staff.  They are here to serve you and give you a better understanding of FCA and campus   ministry.  Campus Director: Jeannine Davis (770) 855-9833 or JDavis@fca.org Forsyth/Dawson Area Director: Michael Ganote (678) 770-5476 or mganote@fca.org

3. Seek the Administration's blessing.  FCA should be student-led and student-initiated.  Students should meet with the school administrators to abtain approval, and provide them with information regarding the FCA ministry.

4. Complete the Ministry Leader Application (MLA) form.  The coach at school who would like to be the school sponsor for FCA needs to complete the MLA.  They can complete the form at  http://www.fca.org/mla.  FCA Staff will receive this form for review.  Once approved, the coach can proceed to certify their campus.

5. Certify your campus.  Visit http://www.fca.org/certify to certify your campus.  Certification will provide a school with insurance for basic FCA meetings at school and also a resource kit to help start your huddle.

6. Hold an organizational meeting.  Have a meeting to share with others at school that you will be starting FCA.  Invite coaches, student-athletes, students, and parents to this meeting.  Invite your local staff and show the FCA promo video. Find out who would be interested in being a part of the leadership team.  Collect contact information of those that are interested.

7. Identify student leaders and coaches.
Ask those interested in leadership to complete MLA's or student leadership applications.  School Huddle Coach should review applications received, hold interviews with potential leaders, and select leadership team with support from the local staff.

8.  Hold a Leadership Team meetingHold a leadership meeting with student leaders and huddle coaches.  Set the time and place for your leadership and huddle meetings.  Use your monthly huddle planner to prepare for huddles and campus outreach.

9. Get the word out.  Create flyers and posters to kickoff your first FCA meeting.  Hang them in classrooms, pass to your friends, and make announcements at school.  You can also send out e-mails or create a facebook group.  Pray, and expect God to show up to do great things in your FCA.
